This past weekend the 96 boys team did the double. The boys played their state league game at 8:00am at Reach 11 easily defeating Desert Elite 3-0. Coach Grant played the entire second half with 9 boys to allow the boys plenty of rest for what was to come next.
Coach Grant & the families then drove two hours to Tucson where they competed in the TSA Tournament. After getting stuck in traffic and barely arriving for kickoff the boys tied 1-1 in their first game. Later that evening they defeated TSA 2-1. On Sunday the boys defeated San Tan Legacy Red 6-0. In the Championship, playing their 5th game in 28 hours the boys defeated Cisco Tucson. The game ended 3-3 and went to pk’s. After 8 kicks each and a lot of very tired penalties NVSC put the winning kick away. Throughout the game Christopher (Chippy)Garcia and Tyler Pavlet both came up with big saves. In the penalty shootout Tyler made two important saves to help seal the win.
Great job boys!
